This 'Hangeul (Korean Alphabet)' application allows foreign learners without prior knowledge of the Korean language to easily grasp the sounds and forms of Korean consonants and vowels. It offers a variety of educational activities that teach Korean pronunciation and writing. With this app, learners can confidently master the sounds and shapes of Hangeul (Korean alphabet) using their smart devices from anywhere in the world.

Characteristics

The overall composition of this app is designed to facilitate a step-by-step learning approach to Korean pronunciation and stroke order for writing consonants and vowels. The stroke order is clearly numbered, making it easy for learners to understand and follow. Learners can practice writing Korean letters directly on their smart devices, aiding in their mastery of the shapes.

For vowels, learners can observe the mouth shape of a native speaker through video footage. The voice-recording function allows users to record and check their pronunciation directly, while also enabling repetitive recording. In the recording section, learners can compare their pronunciation with that of native speakers. Each learning unit includes a practice function to test performance.

This application is available in English, Japanese, and Chinese.

Introduction to SNU Language Education Institute

Are you interested in learning Korean? The Language Education Institute (LEI) at SNU campus is a specialized institution for language education that offers a wide range of Korean language courses. Language education experts with at least a master's degree work diligently to improve learners' Korean proficiency through systematic instruction.

The Regular Program consists of four semesters: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Each 10-week semester includes four hours of daily classes from Monday to Friday. For those unable to attend daytime classes, LEI also offers an evening class on Monday and Thursday, catering to workers and university students. Additionally, there are 3-week and 5-week short-term courses available for students planning to study during vacations.
